The photo appears with a frame over it. Grab a corner or an edge and drag until only what matters is left; what will be thrown away is dimmed rather than hidden, because nobody can judge a crop without seeing what falls outside it. The four sliders underneath are the same crop in numbers — for an exact figure, or for cropping from the keyboard.
The final size in pixels is shown under the picture, so you know before saving whether the photo still works for what you have in mind.
The shapes social networks ask for
A profile picture is square, 1:1. An Instagram post does best at 4:5, which takes up more of the feed. Stories, Reels and TikTok are 9:16. A video thumbnail or a banner is 16:9. Once a shape is picked the frame locks to it: drag a corner and it grows or shrinks without leaving the proportion.
Crop first, resize second
Cropping cuts part of the picture away and keeps the rest at full detail; resizing changes how many pixels the whole picture has. To land on an exact size such as 1080 × 1080, crop to 1:1 here, then use the image resizer. If the result is too heavy to send, the image compressor takes it from there.
One cut for a whole batch
The crop is kept as a percentage of each side, so it works across photos of different sizes: take 10% off the top of every one, or make them all square, in one go. The results come back as a zip, and HEIC photos from an iPhone go in directly.

How do I crop to a square or to 16:9?
Pick the shape above the sliders. The frame becomes the largest rectangle of that shape inside your crop and keeps it while you drag a corner, so you choose what is in the picture and the page keeps the proportions exact.
What is the difference between cropping and resizing?
Cropping cuts away part of the picture and keeps the rest at full detail. Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes how many pixels it has. To make a photo fit a size, crop to the shape first, then resize to the pixels.
Can I crop several images the same way?
Yes. The crop is stored as a percentage of each side, so a whole batch gets the same cut even when the photos are different sizes, and the results come back as a zip.
Does cropping lower the quality?
The kept part is not scaled, so no detail is lost to resizing. The file is re-encoded, and a JPG loses a trace each time; keep the format as it was or save as PNG if you plan to edit again.
