Record your screen
A tab, a window or the whole screen, with your voice if you like. It works on a computer, and the browser asks you every time.
Your voice over the screen, mixed with the tab or system sound if you share it.

Guide: Record your screen without installing anything3 min read
Record your screen without installing anything
Press Choose what to record and the browser opens its own picker: a tab, a window or the entire screen. With Include my microphone on, your voice goes over the top, and the tab or system sound comes along when you tick share audio. A clock shows the time; to finish, press Stop here or Stop sharing in the browser's bar.
Useful for explaining a problem to support, recording a lesson or a presentation, showing a bug to a team or keeping a call. There is no watermark and no time limit, because there is no server in the middle.
Trim and save
When you stop, the recording appears in the preview with trim handles, to cut the seconds of picking a window at the start and of finding the button at the end. WebM saves at once, with nothing lost, and plays in every browser, on YouTube and on Discord. MP4 is for WhatsApp, iPhones and editors, and is converted on this device, so it takes about as long as the recording.
Phone browsers do not allow screen recording; use the system's own recorder and bring the file to trim video or compress video. To record only your voice, use the voice recorder.
Nothing is uploaded
The recording is held in this tab's memory and the conversion is done by ffmpeg running right here. Nothing leaves your device, and the browser shows its sharing bar the whole time, so you can see exactly when the screen is being recorded.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a watermark or a time limit?
Neither. The recording is made by your own browser and kept in this tab's memory, so there is no server to pay for and nothing to put a logo on. The practical limit is memory: about 30 to 60 MB a minute at 1080p, which a laptop holds for a long time.
How do I record the sound too?
Keep Include my microphone on for your voice. For the sound of a video or a call, choose a tab or the entire screen in the browser's picker and turn on its share audio option. Chrome and Edge can share a tab's sound on any system, and the whole system's sound on Windows.
Does it work on a phone?
No. Phone browsers do not let a page record the screen at all. Use the recorder built into Android or iOS, then trim or compress the file here.
WebM or MP4?
WebM is what the browser records, and saving it is instant and lossless. It plays in every browser, on YouTube, Discord and in VLC. Choose MP4 for WhatsApp, an iPhone or a video editor: it is converted on your device and takes about as long as the recording.
Is the recording uploaded?
No. Nothing is sent while you record or when you save, and the browser shows its own sharing bar the whole time. Closing the tab throws the recording away, so save it first.
